Using your talents for God’s glory

wordsThis Saturday my youth group and I will be traveling to an event called “Teens Involved”. TI (Teens Involved) is basically a time and a place where youth groups from all across the U.S. compete in different ministry categories, such as; preaching, video introduction, puppets, teaching children, etc. But it does more then let us compete to win trophies and awards. It helps show us where God has gifted us.

In Ephesians 4:11-12 it says

“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up”

Like I said before, TI has a preaching category. So if you go and compete in preaching you might find out God has gifted you with the gift of preaching. The same with the rest of the categories. TI is just another tool God uses to help teach us and mold us into the young men and women He wants us to be. Are you seeking God and asking Him to show you what your talents and gifts are? And if you already know what your gifted in, are you using it for His glory? Or your own?

Below is a video from Eastern Michigan’s 2009 Teens Involved Area competition.

P.S. We’ll be shooting our first Episode of YIAM TV this Saturday. SO STAY TUNED!
